man is his brother, 26-year-old tamerlan tsarnaev. he's the older brother. he is now dead, killed in a wild overnight police shootout. these two brothers said to be from a russian region near chechnya and believed to have been in the u.s. for quite some time. in the hours since the fbi first made the images public, we also received this chilling photo. look at this. can you see it? we've sort of blocked -- we've blocked the faces. it's actually not that user friendly now that we've blocked the faces, but it appears to show one of the suspects standing behind the 8-year-old little boy, little martin richard, who was murdered at that marathon at the second location. this is the second bombing on monday. you can see the backpack on the bottom, you can see the suspect in the back, and you can see the 8-year-old in the full screen picture that settle original of what we're showing you here. >> that suspect, disok dzhokhar tsarnaev, his uncle was pronouncing his name differently in the i in media. suspect number two in the white hat seen a few feet away from the 8-year-old victim. just

this morning. he described his 26-year-old son tamerlan who had been killed, somebody who is smart. his younger one who is on the run, dzhokar, a second year medical student of the according to ap and according to the father in russia. he is such an intelligent boy. he expected them to come here on holidays. according to ap they spoke to the father that the younger son who is on the run, police may be honing on now in watertown, massachusetts may have been a medical student in the united states. his father said he was expecting him to come home on the holidays. one other thing i would like to note after all the hours of coverage this morning, much was made of the first initial shots we're seeing on the screen of the base ball caps on the suspected terrorists now how they were trying to americanize themselves. now they have been up to the country for ten years they were technically americanized. i think much discussion in the coming days, what will we call these terrorists? will we call them domestic terrorists? or will we still call them foreign terrorists? martha? martha: good point. as you ju

. the older brother, as you mentioned in the beginning, tamerlan, his picture on the icio gun fight overnight with police in massachusetts. what really has authorities troubled, they have locked down the 20 square block area or so in watertown that we have been discussing and we think they have pinched in on the man in the white baseball cap, but they can't be sure. what has them most concerned is that these two brothers have shown quite a bit of skill, and evidence of training. one senior law enforcement official told us a short time ago, these guys were almost textbook perfect in terms of operational planning and security. they stayed off the radar, but beyond that, they have shown a high level of sophisticatifi sod skill in terms of evading police, and when they were confronted with a police shoot-out, incredibly, one of them escaped that cordon. he made the point that there were more police officer there and the suspects were outgunned. he summed it up by saying when have you ever seen that? they don't known he might have other confederates or other plans. the search, while focused in wat
last night in the interaction with police, tamerlan tsarnaev who was 26 years old. it all started last night in cambridge. there was a shootout with an officer at m.i.t. on the m.i.t. campus. that officer having been killed last night, found dead in his police cruiser. the suspects then reportedly carjacked an suv, and a chase ensued. at one point they did release the driver unharmed. they went into watertown which is just outside of cambridge, about 10, 15 minutes outside of cambridge and that's where there was a shootout with police. by 1:30 a.m., the first suspect tamerlan tsarnaev was dead and the second suspect was on the loose and being chased. this morning at about 5:00 a.m. police shut down the mbta. they have also now seen the shutdown of amtrak between boston and providence, a major shutdown. ed davis, commissioner of police, says this is a major man hunt. >> overall at this hour we've seen a lot of activity. they have surrounded the home in cambridge of the suspects where both lived. the a.p. reportedly got in touch with their father overseas in russia. their father expressi
